Milky Way is the main protagonist of Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls.
Milky Way is what every girl wants to be and doesn’t realize she already is. Smart, confident, adventurous and fun, Milky’s passion is new experiences! She travels the universe looking for far out friends and astronomic adventures. When she’s back in our solar system, her entourage the Galaxy Girls, are waiting eagerly to hear about her spectacular space odysseys. When she’s not far off in some distant galaxy, Milky’s need for fun and risky business may lead her and her friends into trouble. But Milky’s quick wits and courage always get them back out! Not even the force of gravity can keep this cosmic girl down.
Description
Physical appearance
Milky Way wears a dark-navy shirt with a star (which is usually long sleeved but as of now short sleeved) and a matching miniskirt, with endless amounts of stars on the latter. She also has long, blonde hair and white roller skates. Her symbol is a 5-pointed star. Unlike others, she has star shapes in her pupils. She is also the big sister of Andromeda.
Personality
Milky Way is the girls' leading member and central focus, who's goal is to discover the existence of the galaxy and what surrounds it. However, she can occasionally be a bit clumsy, as she accidentally frees her soon-to-be arch-nemesis, the Black Hole, by breaking her imprisoned planetoid. She also accidentally puts her friends into trouble. Despite her accident-prone trait, her courage will always get the team back in action.
When she's not fighting the forces of evil, Milky Way loves all sorts of fashion, and is willing to try anything on.

- Milky Way, along with Neptune made a cameo on a poster in Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony during the animation sequence.
- Like Mars, her belly button was exposed in her original design and covered in her redesign.
- She originally had blue shoelaces but they were removed.
- Her description was slightly shortened on her profile.
- In one of her renders, a roller skate mistakenly lacks a toe stop. Jupiter shares this trait.
- Her profile fixes this issue.
- On some artworks, Milky Way has 4 straps on her rollerskates and in others there are 3.
- When Milky Way dances in the Meet Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls animated short, the skate on the ground has 4 straps and the skate in the air has 3 straps, which alternate as she flips sides. She also appears to have four straps on one skate and three on the other on one page of the book.
- An old artwork from 2004 reveals Milky Way once had a necklace, but that was removed in the final. The artwork was removed from the site between August-December 2006.
- Other than The Moon, she is one of four characters who once didn't smile other than chibis (Saturn Beat Boards). The other three are Saturn, Uranus and Pluto.
- She is the only character besides Jupiter and Neptune who exposed her feet at one point.
